DO Pla de Bages
The DO
Created in 1995, the DO Pla de Bages is one of the smallest in Catalonia, but has had a significant expansion in recent years.
The Pla de Bages is a privileged area located in the middle of mountain formations: the characteristics of the soil and the climate give as fruit some wines with a lot of freshness, of friendly concentration and good capacity to age.
Its peculiarities make Bages an optimal area for obtaining wines of great identity. All the wineries in Bages have their own vineyards and their wines offer different expressions of our land and the people who work it.
Castellgalí
The vineyards that have produced our wines are located in the municipality of Castellgalí, south of Bages. Castellgalí, like the whole region, has a long winemaking tradition.
The order founded by Sant Benet in the 6th century was the great promoter of the vineyard, especially around the great monasteries, such as Sant Benet del Bages, Poblet or Sant Pere de Rodes.
The numerous huts and vats in the vineyard that are within the term, and that form a valuable heritage are indicative of the importance of the vineyard.
